Arm/Fire Initiators are
manually operated firing devices, which require two separate and
distinct motions to activate. PSEMC manufactures
an
assortment of these initiators, such as Internal, External Lanyard
Pull, Internal Rotate/Pull, Internal Rotate/Push, Internal Button
Push/Pull, Internal Squeeze/Pull Arming and Pilot Ejection
Sequence Selectors for use in aircraft emergency egress systems,
with varying motions to activate the specific unit.
Some units require electrically arming the
device prior to rotation of the handle 90 degrees followed by
a pulling of the handle . Several units require rotation of the
handle 90 degrees, squeezing a handle or pushing a button followed
by pulling the handle. Others require rotating the handle 90 degrees
in either direction and pushing in on the handle. For some External
Arm/Fire Initiators a lanyard is attached to
the firing mechanism and once pulled taut it loads a spring mechanism
that is released to activate the unit. PSEMC has a vast amount
of experience in the design, development, qualification and production
of Arm/Fire Initiators and can provide one that
will meet your specific requirements.
