Pacific Scientific
Energetic Materials Company (PSEMC) is a multi-faceted division
of the Danaher
Corporation involved in design, manufacture, testing and delivery
of ordnance, electronic and laser systems/components for the aerospace,
defense, and commercial industries.
PSEMC was established in 1975 to manufacture
a wide range of pyrotechnic devices in support of fire suppression
systems on commercial and military aircraft.
In April 1993, PSEMC acquired the business
of
Unidynamics/Phoenix and consolidated the activities
with the Energy Systems Division. As a result of the acquisition,
the new division was renamed Energy Dynamics Division.
In 1998, the name
changed once again, to the current PSEMC after being acquired by
Danaher. PSEMC then acquired the Aerospace Division of Special Devices
Incorporated (SDI) in May 2000, Quantic Industries (QI) in August
2001, and McCormick Selph, Inc. (MSI) in June 2003.
