MULTI-PLEXED ORDNANCE
PSEMC has positioned itself as a leader
in “smart”, low power, networked ordnance command and
control architectures containing smart pyrotechnic devices and digital
sequencing. Smart Energetics Architecture (SEA™)
eliminates the need for large batteries, connectors, and cabling
while a BIT (built-in-test) capability increases reliability and
system performance.
The Smart Initiator (P/N 109891) and Smart
Detonator (P/N 109405) are part of PSEMC's SEA™ product
family of networked ordnance
devices. They incorporate a slave application specific integrated
circuit (ASIC). In this system, all of the ordnance devices are
wired in parallel on a bus, supplying both data and power. The
system features extensive diagnostics, low power operation and
very low EMI.
The Smart Initiator provides a pyrotechnic output,
equivalent to a NASA Standard Initiator. The Smart Initiator size
is the same as the PSEMC 103377-X standard initiator. A variety
of electrical connections and pressure outputs can be provided to
meet customer’s specific design performance requirements. This allows
many conventional pyrotechnic devices to be replaced by SEA™ system
devices with minimal system impact.
